Seniors:  Time is running out.  Senior portraits and baby ads are both due by November 1st.  If you do not have yours submitted by that date, your photo ID picture will be used instead.  Don’t be left out.      http://www.ochs.orecity.k12.or.us/sites/ochs.orecity.k12.or.us/files//2011-2012-pages/2013%20yearbook%20flyer.pdf

The homecoming dance is on October 20th.  You may bring a guest ONLY if they are a graduate from Oregon City High School.  We will not except guest passes from other schools for this dance.  Sign up in Student Services.

Don’t miss the chance to learn some sweet dance moves before homecoming.  Bring a friend and come to the Learn to Dance club on Tuesdays from 3:00 to 4:00 in the D/E lobby.  You can join any time and any skill level is welcome.

This week is “Ally Week”, a nationally celebrated week of showing your support.  Being an ally means that you accept and support people regardless of their sexual orientation, race, gender identity or expression, and believe that schools should be a safe, supportive place for all students.  The Gay-Straight Alliance will be passing out cards that you can sign to show your support as an ally.  Sign up and show support!

Sophomores:  Are you ready to go on a Rotary Youth Exchange?  As a Rotary Exchange student, you’ll spend up to a year living with a few host families and attending school in a different country. Whether you participate in Rotary’s long-term Youth Exchange programs, you’ll learn a new way of living, a great deal about yourself and maybe even a new language. You’ll also be an ambassador, teaching people you meet about your country, culture and ideas. You can help bring the world closer, and make some good friends in the process.  More than 8,000 young people each year have experiences like these through Rotary Youth Exchange. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime.  Are you ready for it?  Contact Counseling ASAP.

King and Queen voting for 2012 homecoming court starts today. We will have laptops at both lunches, so stop by and pick one guy and one gal that you want to be crowned king and queen! The username and password info is the same as last week. Voting ends Tuesday after second lunch, so don’t forget to vote!    http://ochs.orecity.k12.or.us/vote

Teachers:  Please check your boxes for tickets to give to every student that is dressed up.  Students: If you are dressed up and receive a ticket, please place it in the container located in Student Services for a chance to win prizes at the assembly on Thursday!

Attention: The freshmen need convertibles for the homecoming parade for the prince and princesses to ride in.  Please contact Olivia Creelman or Corina Stilwell if you have one.  Thank you.

Attention Seniors:  If you've received a letter about your work samples, then don't forget:  You must come to school on Wednesday morning to work on those grad requirements.  Please go to the cafeteria at the beginning of the school day to get your assignment...and please don't forget your I.D.  If you have any questions, talk with Mr. Fiske in D-113.

AND from the cafeteria:           Chicken Nuggets with Potatoes and a Whole Grain Roll

Have a great day OC!
